Mariah Van Kleef is a Charlotte-based interdisciplinary artist, musician, dancer and folkloric storyteller.
Raised on a Southern homestead by Dutch emigrant parents, with Indonesian lineage woven through her maternal heritage, she grew up in a household shaped by cross-cultural narratives rather than a single spiritual framework.
Whether working as a solo songwriter or leading larger interdisciplinary projects, Van Kleef builds worlds that feel both ancient and immediate—where myth, humanity, and embodiment meet the present moment.
“A forerunner in the music community lately...a visionary.”
